Survived 2009 - What now ?

Still here - what about tomorrow ?

At the start of 2008, operators and dealmakers were so confident the good times would continue to roll that planned growth actually made it a record year. However, by the end of the Summer, the writing was on the wall for all to see - the economy was contracting and suddenly plans for further expansion and new openings began to be shelved. During the last quarter of the year, traditionally the busiest period for the industry, bookings began to drop off, particularly for the all important Festive season and concerns for staying open after the New Year became greater than ever before.

2009 is altogether a very different animal from the year that preceeded it. Major chains, groups and independent operators in the UK and worldwide are focussing not on the future growth of their businesses but on how to keep what they have today, open tomorrow. Even the highest profile names in the industry are not immune to the effects and are closing non-profitable sites, cutting staff, reducing opening hours and promoting value-for-money offers ordinarily seen only in high street supermarkets.

Fortunately, all is not yet lost. In response to the current economic climate, LanburyHundred have put together a number of Recovery Packages to assist you and/or your clients in the restaurant, pub and bar sectors in surviving the tough times ahead. Our aim is simply to keep your business open and solvent until it can stand on its own two feet. Your aim needs to be acting before it is too late.

Recovery Packages

1)   Health Check

Our first package is a simple, fixed-price Health Check, covering two distinctive areas :

a) What The Customer Sees.

A detailed inspection and analysis of the 3 key areas affecting customers in your business; Food and Drink, Service and Ambience. Our consultant will review all areas of your business to ensure that you are delivering the right product and your customers are receiving the right product. In the current climate, we believe that getting the most simple things right is imperative. At the end of the health check, our consultant will produce a report detailing concerns and suggested action.

or

b) Financial Analysis.

An detailed look at the financial management of your business, covering GPs, cost of sales, pricing, direct costs, fixed costs, overheads, procurement and supplier charges. At the end of the health check, our consultant will produce a report detailing concerns and suggested action.

Both these Health Checks can be done separately or together and will involve a consultant spending one day in your business per Health Check, per site. Please contact us for prices or if you have more than one unit.

2)  Implementation Package

Our second package is a follow-on from the initial Health Checks detailed above. Our consultants will provide a far more detailed breakdown of the issues affecting the business and also the solutions available. As well as a written report, the consultant will arrange a face-to-face consultation with you and undertake to guide you through the recovery steps suggested in the report, for as long as necessary. Please contact us for prices as these will vary according to the amount of work undertaken and anticipated length of contract.

3)   Client Requirement Package

As well as our own packages, we are happy to tailor visits and reports for you business around specific issues you may need assistance with, such as Marketing or HR. Please contact us to arrange individual quotations.

As these Recovery Packages are more detailed and exhaustive than space will allow, please contact us for further information via info@lanburyhundred.com
